Welcome!

A wedding ceremony is the beginning of a new life together whose intention is to thrive and flourish with a spirit of heart and love. The expression of your hearts and love for each other is as unique as you are as people, and I would be honored to help you create a ceremony that would reflect that.

I have enjoyed a career as a licensed wedding officiant for the past 25 years when living in Hawaii, and now I live in Nevada City, California, where I serve this mountain community. As an ordained minister since 1984, I have well-honed public speaking skills. I also possess excellent skills in organization and helping people create meaningful life events. I have a casual, down to earth way and stay cool under pressure.

Most importantly, I want to see couples succeed at marriage and truly enjoy their lives together. Anything I can do to be part of this is a blessing to me, and I hope to be a blessing to you.

How it works

From your first call to your signed marriage license, here's what to expect.

  1. Reach out

    Tell me your wedding date and where you'd like to get married. We'll set up a free consultation by phone or in person.

  2. Get your license

    The two of you pick up a marriage license together at a California county clerk's office. It's good for 90 days.

  3. Plan your ceremony

    We shape the ceremony together: religious or non-religious, your own vows or traditional ones, and any special touches.

  4. Say "I do"

    I lead your ceremony, sign your license and return it to the county for you.

The wedding package

For ceremonies in the Nevada County area. A travel fee applies more than 20 miles from Grass Valley.

  • A personalized ceremony written with you, by email or over the phone
  • Help with your marriage license before the wedding, and processing after
  • A keepsake Married in California certificate plus a transcript of your ceremony
  • A free pre-wedding consultation by phone or in person
  • Hawaiian touches if you'd like them: a lei or sand ceremony, and even a song on the ukulele
